Daruchini Dwip of Dreams Island Tour – Bangladesh

The blue of the sky and the blue of the sea are not exactly distinguishable. Both are equally eye catching. Even a coconut tree is so blue that the blue of the sky and the blue of the sea cannot be separated. Both are equally eye catching. Even a coconut tree could look so beautiful, it would have remained unknown if not for St. Martin. The boat moored at the wharf is swaying in waves. The light wind tickles hair, neck, ears. Walking through rows of coconut plantations, I forgot about the long journey on the way. A hands-on science class with sand, rock, coral or biodiversity. Jelly fish, various types of marine fish and turtles roam in the crystal clear water. Much like a fish swimming in aquarium water.

Location
From the moment you land on this coral island, the only one in Bangladesh, you will be amazed for a while. This island is 120 km away from Cox’s Bazar district city in the heart of the sea. It is as if the mother is holding her child with utmost compassion. All around is water and water. It takes two to two and a half hours to go from Teknaf by trawler or ship. The population here is about six and a half thousand. A local said that coconut, onion, pepper, tomato and rice are grown here. However, the profession of almost all residents is fishing. Nowadays many people have opened restaurants, residential hotels or shops to increase the traffic of tourists. The people of St. Martin are easy going, their warm hospitality is a major tourist attraction.

St. Martin & Torn Island
A small area. But his Maya is bigger. It’s hard not to be good. If you don’t go to St. Martin and go to the island! It takes about 10 minutes to get from St. Martin to the island by speedboat. But it takes 40 minutes if it is a trawler. There is no permanent residence on this island. When the number of tourists in the area is high, some people are found there, who open shops selling coconut, chanachur etc. The island was discovered in late 2000. Torn Island is largely submerged during high tides.

The entire eastern side of St. Maarten can be seen on a trawler trip to Chira Island. It is sure to make you want to come back again and again to see this view of Saint Martin surrounded by coconut trees in the blue waters of the sea. Bicycle rentals are available in St. Martin. At low tide, many go there by cycling for adventure. Some of our group also went by bicycle. When the trawler goes, it anchors some distance from the island. Then go down to the island in a small dinghy.

The fairytale island of Santorini – Greece

The main attractions of the fairytale island of Santorini are its unique traditional architecture houses & breathtaking caldera. The houses here are actually poscafo (cave houses), built by the indigenous people to protect themselves from various natural calamities.

About the island
Santorini is a very small island, Its area is around 80 square kilometers, which is almost twice the size of our island of Saint Martin. The two big and bustling cities of this island are ‘Fira’ and ‘Oia’. The island’s only airport ‘Thera’ is smaller than our Cox’s Bazar airport. It takes 5-8 hours by ferry from Athens to Santorini, the blue water of the Aegean Sea while on the ferry is a sight to behold, but spending more than an hour being overwhelmed by the blue water is very boring.

Because being a hydraulic ferry, there is no outside air or decking. We fly directly from Milan to Santorini and on the way back we book a ferry ticket to Athens. There are bus services, taxis, and private transfers to the cities from the airport. Needless to say, taxi fares and transfer services are very expensive in Europe, so traveling by bus is more economical in Santorini. But we take hotel transfer service to reach the port while returning, to reach the port on time in tension free manner. Also, to explore the whole island, we have four wheeler bikes available like Cox’s Bazar, which are quite affordable.

About the hotel
Our hotel was in a place called Imerovigli, between the towns of Oia and Fira. Determining which is a house and which is a hotel in Santorini is a very difficult task. And if you understand the door or gate to enter a house, you have to read the puzzle. After getting off the bus, we looked at the Google map and reached our hotel within two minutes of walking. Even if you can see the nameplate of the hotel, the rooms, there is no way to understand where the reception is, where the entrance is, this is the condition of the cave houses. After many searches and phone conversations, I understand which way to enter. Entering the room, I felt like I was dreaming, a room full of barbidol. According to the amenities, service, and quality of the room, the price of the room is much lower compared to Santorini.

Sightseeing in Santorini
Apart from sightseeing in Santorini, the island of Santorini is full of sweetness of incredible beauty. There are many beaches here. Because the colors of each beach are different, they are known as Black Beach, Red Beach, White Beach. Oia is a very popular spot with the world famous postcard view ‘Three Domes’. As a child, seeing the white buildings and blue domes of Santorini on postcards, I thought it was an artist’s fantasy, but as I grew up, I learned that such a place actually existed. It’s not just me, standing at the spot of Three Domes in Oia, I saw a four-five year old kid saying to his mother ‘mummy, mummy, it’s real, mummy it’s real, I thought it’s only a picture, but it’s real mummy, it’s real’ . The enthusiasm of the boy was visible, as if he could not believe what he was seeing with his own eyes.

We can find the three domes directly in a very short time due to the study in advance but finding the spot of these three domes is a difficult task. But there are so many people, it is not possible to stand for even a minute, so it is not possible to take pictures comfortably if you don’t go early in the morning. The tourist pressure is very high in Oia, people gather to watch the sunset in the evening, there is no place to be found. So we went back to the room early in the evening to relax and watch the sunrise.

If you want to spend some time of your life in the kingdom of fairy tales, you should visit the world famous island of Santorini, full of sweetness of extraordinary beauty. Apart from sunrise, sunset, the beauty of Santorini at night is not to be missed. If you choose a hotel with a good view, you can enjoy the beauty of the entire city by sitting in the hotel room. Besides, sitting on the balcony drinking coffee and watching the night city and if there is a big full moon in the sky, then there is nothing to say.

Some words
I really wanted to know the explanation behind why the colors of the architecture here are white and blue, but I couldn’t find out. However, the colors of the Greek flag match or the inadequacy of the colors may also be a reason. Whatever the reason, walking down the cobblestone streets past Santorini’s whitewashed houses, blue domes, and ocean laps is sure to leave anyone in awe.
