On the third day, the destination is Lachung, 110 km from Gangtok. Although the distance is 110 km, it seems more because of the hilly road; 1 whole day goes by! On the journey, there will be thousands of mountain springs and the sound of falling water coming down with the mighty power of Durnibar!

Love at first sight, cherishing the memory of that ‘love’ and falling in love with it – this sums up my feelings towards the city of Lachung. The city may seem a little uncomfortable for techies as there is no mobile network. But nature lovers will not hesitate to call this city the city of magic. The entire city is carved by a river, named ‘Lachung River’. The sound of the river current is so strong I had no idea! That day was the full moon, with the flowing river roaring; Unearthly, truly unearthly! I was walking along the river in a spiral. Every step was leading to the river, a little closer! At a height of 8,200 feet above sea level, if you fall into this river once, you will not even hear the sound of crying!
The white waters sparkle like diamonds in the soft light of the moon. I don’t know why death seemed very adorable in this unearthly moment! While at university, I was inclined to take a course on photography but never had much interest in photography. But many pictures were taken at the moment. A failed attempt to hold on to these unearthly moments! Ambition is needed to do good things in life, but a little smile on the corner of the lips is enough to be good. A man of Amni ‘Haseemukh’ was our tour driver. These career minded people are not oblivious to what they have not got in life, but want to cling to what they have got. Fourth day journey started with him. Destination Yamthang Valley and Zero Point. Yamthang Valley is a 4-5 hour journey from Lachung.
Yamthang Valley
The towering hills on the bends of the journey give only one indication – the creator is the best artist. A 3,000-foot-high mountain stands proudly on the 8,200-foot-high city! And how arrogant about our size of 5-6 feet!
Some of them are covered with snow on the top, and some of them are covered with green, and some of them are bald and a little gomra-mukha! But all mountains are likened to greatness. Some mountains are busy hiding the sun, some are reflected and refracted in the sunlight. Each hill is unique in its own personality. These artisans are relentlessly busy with nature’s work under the instructions of the creator! Although the Yamthang Valley is the kingdom of flowers, I did not receive flowers at the beginning of October! But the entire valley is carpeted with unbroken green. With a pine tree standing at a 90 degree angle. The nature of Yamthang Valley owes a lot to the ‘green color’, because all the greens of the world have borrowed and decorated themselves!

Then the next destination – Zero Point. At the outset, zero point is 15,300 feet above sea level, where oxygen is scarce. So the stories so far seem like “joy trips” but now they are adventures. So this journey is not suitable for those who have breathing problems or are a little old. It is allowed to go here if the nature is calm. The whole place is under the control of the army because the India-China border is in front. Zero Point – Treeless mountain summit. In winter the whole is covered in white snow. The breath was getting heavy, but I tried to climb a mountain with some invisible urge, after climbing a little, the oxygen level was gradually decreasing.
On the fifth day it was our turn to return, from Lachung to Gangtok, from there to Siliguri. I was hypnotized by the mountains and waterfalls on the way, the full propagation of that feeling. Not a word, the bags that felt heavy while in Siliguri, got heavier thanks to my wife’s welfare, along with the travel memories! Everyone pray, we can grow old together by cherishing these memories!
Visit Bhutan
Indian brokers will force you to exchange rupees or dollars in Changabandha. Don’t let them know how much total money you have now. Think about getting out of here by breaking a little. From Changrabandha you have to go to Jaigaon border. You can go by taxi. It will take about like 3.5hours. Taxi will cost about 400 rupees per person. Mainaguri bus from bus stand is 15-20 rupees, takes 30 minutes. . From Mainaguri direct to Jaigaon bus fare is 50-65 rupees, time 3 to 4 hours. . From Jaigaon to Indian Immigration Point Tempo will cost Rs.10 and will take 15 minutes. After clearing the immigration you have to walk into Bhutan. It is the gateway to Bhutan. Funtsoling. Funtsoling is just beyond Jaigaon. Here Bhutan will give you visa on arrival.

Now it’s time to visit Bhutan safely. If you want, you can go from Funtsoling that day. A good hotel will be found at a relatively low cost. Two people can stay in a room for 1 to 1500 taka. If you don’t have much time, go to Paro or Thimphu instead of Phuntsoling that day. The bus stand is there. Last bus around 4:30 pm. You can go to Paro or Thimpu through hilly winding roads, the fare will be 250 rupees, it will take 6 hours. But if you have time, don’t forget to visit the small town of Phuntsoling from one day. A river flows by the side of the beautifully arranged city. If you want to go to Paro or Thimpu at low cost, you can rely on buses. In that case, book tickets the previous day. You can also go by taxi. Accommodation in Paro is very good.
Beauty of Thimphu
Don’t forget to visit Tiger’s Nest and Paro Jung when visiting Paro. Paro Airport will also impress you. Paro is a very calm and relaxing city. It takes about two hours to reach Thimphu from Paro. Buddha Point, Thimphu Monastery, King’s House are some of the scenic spots here. One day is enough to visit Thimphu. If you plan to visit Bhutan in December, don’t forget to visit Chelala Pass and Dochala Pass. If you are lucky you will get ice here. Snow falls here from December to February-March. When returning, remember that the bus from Burimari usually leaves in the evening. So try to leave Funtsoling before 12 o’clock.

From Indian Immigration Point to Jaigaon Bus Stand Tempo costs Rs 10 and takes 15 minutes. . It will take 3 to 4 hours from Jaigaon to Mainaguri bus stand or 50-65 rupees. Bus ride from Mainaguri to Changrabandha bus stand will cost 15-20 rupees and will take 30 minutes. . From Changrabandha Bus Stand to Changrabandha Zero Point van is Rs 10 and takes 10 minutes.
Things to know:
- 1. The beauty of Bhutan’s roads is extraordinary. So if you want to go to Paro or Thimphu from Phuntsoling, leave in daylight.
- 2. At the Changrabandha border, you can exchange money from Rs. Keep 1 copy of passport size photograph and photocopy of passport.
- 3. In case of transit visa, you can stay in India for a maximum of 72 hours at a time. And on this occasion you can visit Jalpaiguri or Darjeeling for a day or 2 days.
- 4. Budget per day for hotel is 1 to 1500 rupees.
- 5. 100 to 200 rupees per meal. Although many people may have a little trouble with eating. Everything except rice, vegetables, chicken and red bread is Bhutanese food.
- 6. The currency of Bhutan is Nultram. But the Indian rupee is used everywhere there. But if there is any nulltrum before coming, try to finish it there. Because this Nulltram does not go anywhere except the border area of India.
- 7. You cannot smoke cigarettes anywhere in Bhutan. Also try to refrain from spitting everywhere. Use zebra crossing to cross the road.
