1. Maldives: Paradise for tourists
It is an island nation located in the Indian Ocean in South Asia. The country is located in the southwest of Sri Lanka and India and its distance from the mainland of Asia is about 1000 km. The country has 1,200 islands but only a few are inhabited. Maldives is a paradise for tourists. this country’s economy mainly based on tourism. Fish also make an important contribution to their economy. Tourists are allowed short-term visits to inhabited islands other than the capital, Male. Although many Maldivians live below the poverty line, the country has recently made improvements in infrastructure, industry and fisheries.
1. By reviewing the language, culture etc. it can be confirmed that the first settlers in Maldives were Dravidian people. Between 300-350 BC they moved there from the state of Kerala in the southwestern part of India. Persian Muslims arrived in these islands in the twelfth century. They were known as ‘foreign saints’. These foreign saints or Persians initiated the Maldivians into Islam religion which is wonderful.
In 1153 Persian Muslims established an ‘independent Islamic Sultanate’ here. They took the name Sultan and maintained this Sultanate system until 1968. Between 1887 and 1965, the country was a British protectorate. The island nation became independent on July 26, 1965. Since 1968, the country has had a democratic system of governance. Currently it is a presidential country.
2. About 3 lakh 41 thousand people live in this country with an area of 298 square kilometers. It is the ninth smallest country in the world in terms of area.
3. Dhivehi language or Maldivian language is the official language of Maldives. Almost all of these islands speak different dialects of the Dhivehi language. Sinhala language, Arabic language and various Indian languages are also spoken here. However, English language is used in international trade and tourism industry.
4. Majority of people of the country believe in Islam. About 99 percent of the people of the country are followers of Islam. The remaining 1 percent belong to other religions.
5. Male is the capital and most populous city of the Republic of Maldives. The area of the city is 9.27 square kilometers. Administratively, the city consists of a central island, an airport and two other islands managed by the Male City Council. The islands of Mal are each connected to each other by a dense network of paved roads.
The central island is heavily urbanized. There are many tourist centers in Male and many resorts nearby. The central port of Maldives is located in this city. It is the center of all the commercial activities of the country.
6. The country has a humid tropical climate. Maldives experiences wet season from April to January and dry season from February to March. The maximum average temperature here is around 30 degrees Celsius and the minimum average temperature is around 25 degrees Celsius.
7. The country currently has a presidential system of government. President is the head of government. The President appoints the Cabinet Ministers and heads them. The President holds office for five years. However, non-Muslims have no voting rights in the country.
8. Although small, the country has its own defense system. They have their own joint defense force called The Maldives National Defense Force. The main function of this force is to protect the security and sovereignty of the country.
9. This country is the lowest country in the world. Famous for tourism, the highest altitude above sea level is only 2.3 meters and the average altitude is only 1.5 meters.
10. The Maldivian diet is mainly based on fish, as the fishing industry is the second largest industry in the Maldives. Fish and rice are the most common daily foods, with fish being the most important source of protein in the diet. Most of the food served at tourist resorts is imported.

Island of Capri: Blue-green waters

Tourists from different parts of the world flock to the island of Capri, which is located south of the city of Naples in Italy, to enjoy the wonderful natural beauty.
Capri can be reached in a few hours by ferry from Naples, Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi, or by boat from ports on the Gulf of Naples and the Sorrentine Peninsula. I went to the island of Capri in January last year to enjoy the deep meeting of the mountains and the sea, the huge rocks floating in the sea, the abundant environment and the mild climate. The distance from Naples to Capri by sea is only 5 km. I boarded the ferry from Naples to Capri early in the morning.

Augustus Gardens
After enjoying the beauty of Blue Grotto, I went to Augustus Garden. From this park, you can see the vast green-blue water in the far sea, the huge rock called Faraglioni floating on the sea, the beauty of the winding path on the mountain. Augustus Garden has many fruit and flower trees. Roman emperors Augustus and Tiberius have contributed a lot to the history of this island. The garden was named Augustus Garden after the Roman Emperor Augustus. I reached Anacapri from Augustus Gardens. Anacapri has the Villa San Michele area of this city. Where there is a white palace surrounded by a huge garden facing the sea.
Anacapri has many small and large local shops, selling wines made with Capri lemons, souvenirs, etc. It was time to explore Anacapri. Now to return to Naples. It was the sun’s farewell in the sea beyond the arrogant Faraglioni.
Silong: The Hand of the Sea
Sillong is the capital of Meghalaya. Sillong is the best travel destination in India. It is as if the creator has made a temple with his own hands, which cannot be believed unless seen with one’s own eyes. Before entering the city of Sillong, located at about 5 thousand feet, you will see the beautiful Umiam Lake. If you go to Sillong via Gauhati, it is only a three-hour drive. The journey is very enjoyable. On the way, the surrounding natural scenery will impress you.

You can take a rest at the hotel and go to Sillong’s most popular area, Police Bazaar. Seven roads meet here. Hence the name Seven Paints. You can visit the important places. 17 km from the city. Your eyes will widen as soon as you reach the shores of Umiam Lake in the distance. How such a big lake was formed on the mountain is a wonder. It is known as Big Pani to many locals. It is surrounded by pine forested hills and small hills. It will look like a picture. Boarding is available in the lake water. India’s first water sports complex has been built here.
Ceylon Golf Course
Then you can go to Silong Golf Course. To go here, you have to go down a bit from the city. The scenery around here is great. The course is covered with green grass surrounded by pine trees. Next destination is Silong Peak. You will get a clean road on the way. View point at the top of Silong Hill. Its height is 1965 meters above sea level. If the surrounding is not covered by fog, you can climb the watch tower and see the whole city of Sillong. You can see the beauty of mountains and forests. At night you can see the whole city of Sillong shining with lights.
Elephant Falls Waterfall
Then you can go to Elephant Falls, the largest and most beautiful waterfall in the region. There are numerous falls around Shillong. You can go to Wards Lake. A nice place to visit surrounded by flower gardens and trees. Boarding is available in the lake. If you want, you can board with your loved ones. You can go to Lady Hydari Park, you will see different types of flowers here. Besides, you can visit zoo, state museum, catholic church, butterfly museum. You can eat delicious momos on the side of the road. Local girls are sitting on the roadside with momos. Delicious to eat.
